DC's developing cinematic universe is bringing Gorilla Grodd into a new Superman spin-off series titled DC Crime. Comedian and actor Jimmy Tatro is reportedly being considered to portray the supervillain alongside Skyler Gisondo's Jimmy Olsen character in what will be styled as a true-crime documentary. The series, created by Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault, has not yet received formal greenlit status but follows Grodd's recent appearance in the animated Creature Commandos project.

Grodd first appeared in 1959 as an extraordinarily intelligent ape who acquired psychic powers following exposure to alien radiation, subsequently claiming control of the hidden Gorilla City. Over six decades, the character has established himself as one of DC's most distinctive and recurring villains, appearing across animated series, live-action television, and print media as a persistent nemesis of the Flash. His involvement in this new series represents another addition to the interconnected DC universe currently being developed under director James Gunn's creative leadership.
