DC’s ‘Superman’ Sequel Officially Set for 2027 Release

James Gunn has announced that *Man of Tomorrow*, the sequel to DC’s *Superman*, has completed principal photography and remains scheduled for release on 9 July 2027. The film is significant as one of the few confirmed future DC Universe releases and will continue the story of Superman and imprisoned rival Lex Luthor, who must reportedly work together against Brainiac.

David Corenswet returns as Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Luthor and Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, with Gunn again writing and directing. Returning characters include Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Supergirl, Guy Gardner, Mister Terrific and Hawkgirl; the cast also adds Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart, Xolo Maridueña’s Blue Beetle and reportedly Adria Arjona as Maxima.
