De La Rose and Ryan Castro Throw a Cross-Cultural Party on ‘La Monda’
Puerto Rican singer De La Rose has released a new single, "La Monda", a collaboration with Colombian artist Ryan Castro. The pairing marks a deliberate push towards global expansion for De La Rose, who has become one of this year's most-streamed female Latin acts on Spotify, as she seeks to broaden her reach across different countries and cultures while preserving her authenticity and connection with fans.
De La Rose, whose real name is Yuberkis Gabriela Marie de la Rosa Bryan, hails from Cayey and has previously worked with reggaeton figures including Myke Towers, Jhayco, Sech, Mora and frequent collaborator Omar Courtz. "La Monda" is Caribbean Colombian slang meaning something is cool or the best; Castro joins at the song's midpoint with his signature "Awoo!" callout, and the tropical video turns a Miami set into a Colombian-style party. The single precedes an upcoming EP that De La Rose says will feature singers from Spain and Puerto Rico and represents "a new chapter", following her debut album FX De La Rose, which spawned hits such as "Nubes", "Yo Te Conozco :):" and "$extape" with Eladio Carrión.
