- Eight bodies were recovered as search work continued.
- US-mediated talks are due to resume next week.

## Summary

Ukraine’s death toll from a Russian strike on Komyshuvakha has risen to 50, authorities said on Friday, after eight more bodies were recovered. The attack is among the deadliest in more than four and a half years of war and hit as civilians gathered to collect humanitarian aid.

Search and rescue work at the site in Zaporizhzhia region was continuing on its fifth day. Ukraine says the strike hit a former school building and an underground shelter; the UN human rights mission said it likely violated international law. The attack came after a ceasefire ended in Kherson, while US-mediated Russia-Ukraine talks are due to restart in Abu Dhabi next week.
