Maniac Mansion co-creators Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick have announced Thimbleweed Park 2, a follow-up to their 2017 pixel-art point-and-click murder mystery. The game is due in 2028 and will bring back Agents Ray and Reyes for another deliberately strange whodunit, continuing a well-regarded modern revival of classic adventure games.

The new case centres on a body at Edmund Mansion, where every resident is a suspect and the detectives must locate the murderer — and possibly even each other. Developers describe it as neither fully a sequel nor prequel, but “more Thimbleweed Park”; returning characters are expected, while no console versions have yet been confirmed.
