A former Western Bulldogs AFL player, Brodie Moles, has been found guilty of assaulting his ex-partner, former model Lilly Munro, and her mother in a series of violent incidents dating back to 2016. Moles, 40, appeared at Moorabbin Magistrates' Court, where the case highlighted how his anger over missing out on his former club's Grand Final success fuelled one of the attacks, underscoring the ongoing issue of domestic violence linked to alcohol misuse and unresolved personal grievances.

The court heard that on 30 September 2016, the night before the Bulldogs' Grand Final against the Sydney Swans, an intoxicated Moles threw Munro to the kitchen floor and repeatedly slapped, hit and kicked her; when her mother intervened, he punched through a glass door, injuring her. A separate assault took place on 24 April 2016 after a christening party attended by around 200 guests, during which a jealous, drunk Moles struck Munro, threw her into a fence and ground her head into gravel, leaving her bloodied and swollen-faced. The court also heard that in November 2017 Moles threatened Munro that her children would be taken into foster care. Moles, who played 17 AFL games for the Bulldogs after being delisted in 2011, denied the charges but was convicted on multiple counts of assault.
