## Key points

- A Democratic operative says allegations against Omar appear credible.
- He also questions the public account of her finances.
- Omar has not been charged, and she denies the allegations.

## Summary

Former Minnesota state representative and Democratic operative Joe Radinovich said he believes allegations about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s marriage and immigration history are probably true, while acknowledging uncertainty about the federal investigation’s timing and the Justice Department’s credibility. His comments are notable because they show that some scrutiny of Omar’s legal issues is coming from within Democratic circles.

Radinovich also raised questions about public explanations of Omar’s finances, saying key questions remained unanswered. Omar’s Washington home was searched by Homeland Security Investigations on 12 October 2026, and investigators seized her passport, phone and computer; the article says no criminal charges have been filed. Omar denies the allegations, which include claims that she married her brother as part of an immigration scheme.
