## Summary

Democrats won control of the House for the final two years of President Donald Trump’s term, according to the Fox News Decision Desk projection. Their gains included upsets in districts viewed as Republican strongholds, giving the party the chance to shape legislation and launch investigations into the Trump administration.

The article says Republicans suffered losses among Hispanic and young voters, independents and rural Americans. Democrat Jamie Ager won North Carolina’s 11th District, while Republican Mike Lawler conceded to Cait Conley in New York; House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is positioned to become the first Black Speaker. Some Republicans expect new party leaders, with internal leadership elections due next week.
