Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer said President Donald Trump helped secure an Air Force project for the state that the Biden administration had not completed. Speaking on Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast, the Democratic governor credited Trump with delivering for Michigan despite her political differences with him, highlighting the project’s importance to the state’s military presence and economy.

The project concerns Selfridge Air National Guard Base, which is set to receive 21 F-15EX fighter aircraft to replace retiring A-10 planes. Trump announced the planned aircraft deployment in April, while Whitmer said the previous administration had been unable to get the proposal over the line.
