Hasan Piker, a prominent left-wing political streamer, claimed that the United States has caused more terrorism globally than al-Qaeda when measured by deaths. He argued that civilian deaths from US military actions should be considered terrorism, prompting renewed scrutiny of his inflammatory rhetoric and ties to Democratic candidates.

Piker cited a reported US strike on an Iranian school in Minab, which Iranian officials said killed about 160 people, including 120 children. A UN investigation reportedly found grounds to consider the strike a possible war crime, while also accusing Iran of crimes against humanity; Piker has previously apologised for saying America deserved the 9/11 attacks.
