In total, eight Democrats backed the anti-socialism resolution, also including representatives from Florida, Texas, North Carolina and New Mexico; possible consequences for the two rebels range from loss of committee assignments to no formal penalty, though this remains undecided, and Golden, who is not seeking re-election, is less exposed than Gluesenkamp Perez, who must defend her seat as an "independent voice" for her district.
