## Key points

- Letter writers say Stevens’s treatment contradicts Democrats’ “big tent” claims.
- Other letters debate congestion pricing, Israel, relationships and beauty standards.
- A surgeon praises Jennifer Lawrence for speaking openly about appearance.

## Summary

The letters’ writers criticise Democratic leaders over the party’s response to Representative Haley Stevens, arguing that her stance on anti-Zionist rhetoric undermines claims of a broad coalition. Other correspondents challenge the MTA’s account of congestion pricing, object to a Saturday Night Live joke about Israel, and oppose West Hollywood’s recognition of polyamorous relationships.

The letters also discuss Jennifer Lawrence and pressures around beauty standards, with a plastic surgeon praising her openness, and New York City bus fare evasion. These are readers’ opinions rather than independently established findings; the article provides no evidence to resolve the disputes or quantify the claims about commuters’ costs and traffic.
