Dentist who helped save stabbed Flydubai pilot reveals ‘extremist hijacker’ repeatedly begged ‘kill me’ – as new footage emerges of him
Passengers restrained the co-pilot of a Flydubai flight after he stabbed the captain, helping prevent further danger and allowing the aircraft to land safely. Dentist Shota Musaev, who treated the injured pilot, says the attacker repeatedly begged him to “kill me” as passengers tied him up.
The incident happened on flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, with 174 passengers aboard, at 34,000 feet. Captain Smit Machchhar had serious wounds to his arm, neck and head; Musaev and others used pieces of cloth to stem the bleeding when first-aid supplies were unavailable. The plane landed in Saudi Arabia, where Machchhar was taken off on a stretcher.
