## Key points

- Quinn’s return renews attention on Batista’s death.
- Detectives have set the case aside for now.
- Dexter’s guilt and other pressures continue to grow.

## Summary

New comments from the cast suggest the investigation into Angel Batista’s death could return later in season two of Dexter: Resurrection. Joey Quinn is back seeking answers, while detective Claudette Wallace says the case is set aside “for now” as she and Melvin Oliva focus on other work.

Dexter killed his longtime friend Batista in season one and remains troubled by the murder. The season-two premiere shows his guilt, his absence from son Harrison’s police academy graduation, and the NYPD’s pursuit of two other killers: the New York Ripper, played by Brian Cox, and the Five Borough Killer, played by Dan Stevens.
