The Department of Homeland Security has dismissed three additional FEMA employees after an inspector general report found that disaster-relief crews bypassed homes displaying pro-Trump signs following Hurricane Milton. The action follows the earlier dismissal of a supervisor, and highlights concerns that political bias may have affected the delivery of emergency assistance.

DHS said the employees failed to meet FEMA’s conduct standards, bringing further disciplinary action after the report published last week. Former supervisor Marn’i Washington was previously fired over instructions concerning homes in Lake Placid, Florida, in 2024; she disputes wrongdoing and says crews avoided properties only where Trump signs were accompanied by signs of hostility, including gun-related messages, because staff faced threats and aggressive encounters.
