Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a countersuit against producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, alleging that Jones unlawfully took behind-the-scenes footage and sold it for use in 50 Cent’s Netflix documentary series about Combs. The filing also accuses Jones of defamation, while Combs continues to deny Jones’s sexual abuse and trafficking allegations; the dispute adds a new civil case to the legal fallout surrounding Combs.

Combs’s lawyers say Jones accessed a videographer’s workstation during a 2022 trip to St Barths and took hard drives containing footage intended for Combs’s own documentary, later representing it as his own to Netflix. They allege Jones secured an on-camera interview for the six-part series, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, in return; Netflix is not accused of wrongdoing. Jones originally sued Combs in March 2024, and although some claims were dismissed, allegations including sexual assault and sex trafficking were allowed to proceed.
