Paramount is moving forward with a contemporary adaptation of Possession, the 1981 psychological horror film centred on a woman undergoing disturbing psychological changes following a divorce. The latest casting addition is Diego Calva, who joins an ensemble led by Callum Turner, Margaret Qualley, and Paul Dano, with director Parker Finn helming the project he also wrote.

Calva, who rose to prominence following his lead role in Babylon opposite Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt, has steadily expanded his filmography with roles in recent projects including the psychological drama Her Private Hell and the independent film Club Kid, both scheduled for 2026 release. The project continues a trend of remounting classic horror properties with contemporary casts and creative teams.
