- Creator Julie Klausner hopes the event could lead to more.

## Summary

The cast of *Difficult People* will reunite in New York on 3 November for a staged reading of a follow-up film script that was commissioned but never made. Creator Julie Klausner hopes the event could lead to more of the story, while giving her and the cast a chance to revisit the characters.

The proposed film follows Julie and Billy as they pursue stardom again and confront changes in entertainment, including cheap horror films and social media influencers. Billy Eichner, Andrea Martin, James Urbaniak and Gabourey Sidibe are among the returning cast; Susan Lucci will play Cole Escola’s unavailable character, alongside guests including Christopher Meloni and Cecily Strong. The Hulu sitcom ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2017, and Klausner says the enduring friendship at its centre offers room to explore how show business and comedy have changed.
