- Badenoch says Trump deserved his midterm defeat.
- She condemns his tariffs and treatment of allies.
- She criticises Johnson and Truss’s records in government.

## Summary

Kemi Badenoch said Donald Trump deserved to lose the US midterm elections, condemning his tariffs, threats towards Canada and Greenland, disputes with allies and personal attacks. She said his defeat was self-inflicted because voters wanted results, and said she would have been content had Kamala Harris won the 2024 presidential election instead.

In the interview, Badenoch also criticised former Conservative prime ministers Boris Johnson and Liz Truss for short-termism and mistakes, including high immigration and Truss’s unfunded tax cuts and energy support. She described Reform UK as “bonkers”, ruled out joining a coalition led by Nigel Farage, and called Andy Burnham more fun than Keir Starmer but dangerous beneath his charm.
