Disney Officially Replaces Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian

Collider · 13 hours ago

Disney has confirmed that Gavin Hammon will voice Din Djarin in the animated special LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian, released on Disney+ today, replacing Pedro Pascal in the role for the first time. The change is notable because Pascal, who has voiced and portrayed the character since 2019 across three television seasons and the recent film The Mandalorian and Grogu, appears to be the only principal cast member not reprising their role for the special, with the rest of the ensemble returning to voice their characters.

Katee Sackhoff, Emily Swallow, Ming-Na Wen, Rosario Dawson, Temuera Morrison and Giancarlo Esposito are all voicing their television roles in the LEGO retelling, which offers a comedic take on key moments from the series. Disney has given no indication that this affects Pascal's live-action future as Din Djarin; he has said he intends to keep playing the character for as long as audiences want, and stunt performers have previously worn the armour during live-action filming while Pascal supplied the voice.
