## Key points

- Channel 4 is coming to Disney+ in the UK and Ireland in 2027.
- Subscribers will get the HD channel and on-demand shows at no extra cost.
- New programmes include Maya, Stepping Up and Celebrity SAS.

## Summary

The newly added details identify several Channel 4 programmes planned for Disney+, including drama Maya, starring Bella Ramsey, comedy Stepping Up, featuring Denise Welch, and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The deal matters because it will bring Channel 4’s service and locally made programmes to Disney+ subscribers in the UK and Ireland.

The Channel 4-branded section is due to launch in early 2027, with its linear HD channel and hundreds of hours of on-demand content available at no extra cost. Multiple new Channel 4 shows are expected on Disney+ each year at the same time as their release on Channel 4. Disney describes the agreement as one of its most significant global broadcaster partnerships; it is among around ten similar deals and follows an earlier content-sharing arrangement with ITVX.
