Disney+ has secured global streaming rights to the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, taking over as the electric racing series' primary streaming home from Roku. Under the deal, races will be shown in more than 140 territories, with US audiences also able to watch via ESPN+, while Formula E retains the ability to keep existing local broadcast TV agreements in certain markets. The move marks a significant expansion of Disney's motorsport coverage even as rival Formula 1 has taken the opposite path, ending its ESPN partnership in favour of Apple for US rights.

The new arrangement begins with the 2026/27 season, comprising 21 rounds across 13 events, starting on 18 December in Saudi Arabia and taking in stops such as Miami, Monaco and Mexico City. Formula E, which has run since 2014 using electric vehicles, has been growing in popularity, and Roku's role as its main streaming partner – which included producing a documentary series on the league – now appears to be ending.
