## Key points

- Frozen 4 will not follow the third film as quickly as first planned.
- Disney wants Frozen 3 to feel like a complete story.
- The third film is due in cinemas on 24 November 2027.

## Summary

Disney has changed its plans for the timing of Frozen 4, which was initially expected to follow Frozen 3 soon after. The decision reflects the creative team’s aim to give each film a satisfying story of its own while developing a wider emotional journey for Anna, Elsa and the people of Arendelle.

Disney Animation head Jared Bush said character development matters more to him than plotting the films as one continuous story. Frozen 3 is scheduled for 24 November 2027, with Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff returning; Jennifer Lee is also set to work on both sequels. Details of Frozen 4, including its story and release date, have not been announced.
