## Key points

- Jason Brock waved a Pride flag while singing the US anthem.
- The performance took place at the Warriors’ Pride Night game.
- Brock said the players’ laughter may not have been about the anthem.

## Summary

Jason Brock, who sang the US national anthem before the Golden State Warriors’ Pride Night game against Miami, waved a small Pride flag during the performance. His response to criticism matters because the incident has prompted debate about expression at public sporting events and how the anthem should be observed.

Brock said on X that he had not been watching the players and that their laughter did not necessarily relate to the anthem. The article provides no further details about the backlash or Brock’s response, and its claims about the players’ reactions remain uncertain.
