Former Detroit medical resident Lincoln Erickson, 32, has been sentenced to 108 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to receiving child sexual abuse material. The case emerged from an FBI investigation into an alleged network, and prosecutors said his encrypted messages showed intentions to sexually abuse children.

Erickson was arrested in December 2025 after investigators linked him to other suspects, including Brett Tooman, whose case involved an undercover operation. Court documents alleged that Erickson exchanged abuse-related messages and images, claimed to have abused a three-year-old child, and discussed grooming children; authorities said the investigation prevented further offending.
