AMC Theatres will screen Steel Magnolias and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas in a retrospective honouring Dolly Parton following her death. The programme highlights Parton’s film career alongside her widely recognised achievements in music and reflects the enduring popularity of both films.

The screenings will run from 28 August to 2 September at about 200 US AMC locations, including cinemas in Tennessee, with Fan Faves pricing. The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas earned nearly $70 million domestically in 1982, while Steel Magnolias took $86.4 million in the US and nearly $97 million worldwide; Julia Roberts received a supporting actress Oscar nomination for the latter.
