Dolly Parton's estate has confirmed plans for an inaugural "DollyFest", a two-day event to be held in both Nashville and London in 2027, honouring the country icon's life and legacy following her death last month. Organiser Danny Nozell said the festival-style celebration will take the place of a traditional public memorial, allowing time for tributes to happen naturally while giving fans and artists worldwide a chance to grieve and take part.

The event will be staged across two consecutive weekends, with exact dates still to be announced. Parton died aged 80 on 25 August after a brief battle with cancer, and was laid to rest in a private funeral over the weekend at Nashville's Woodlawn Memorial Park, alongside her husband Carl Dean and fellow country stars including George Jones and Tammy Wynette. DollyFest had originally been planned for January this year with Parton performing alongside other artists, but was postponed owing to her declining health; separately, Nashville International Airport is also set to be renamed in her honour after a petition gathered more than 160,000 signatures.
