Dolly Parton's estate has announced the creation of Dollyfest, a transatlantic festival to be held in 2027 to celebrate the country star's life and legacy. The event, spanning two consecutive weekends across Nashville and London, was originally conceived by Parton herself as a celebration to take place around her 80th birthday in January 2026, before she stepped back due to declining health. Parton died on 25 August aged 80 after a brief battle with cancer, and was laid to rest in a private family funeral on 28 August at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville, beside her late husband Carl Dean.

Parton's manager, Danny Nozell, said the festival was "a dream of Dolly's" that had been fully planned before her health setbacks intervened, and stressed it is not meant to replace the tributes already pouring in from fans and fellow artists, including Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and her goddaughter Miley Cyrus. Billed as a "global double-day, double-weekend, double-continent party of a lifetime", Dollyfest will allow time for grieving before celebrations begin, though specific dates have yet to be confirmed.
