Dolly Parton’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, has sought a temporary restraining order against her nephew, Bryan Seaver, following a dispute over the management of Parton’s business interests after her death. Nozell and She’s Alive, LLC, allege that Seaver sent increasingly threatening messages, prompting his dismissal and raising concerns among employees and advisers.

Court documents reportedly include messages in which Seaver threatened to damage Parton’s brand and demanded payment, while the company says the dispute led to resignations and the hiring of private security. Seaver denies making threats, saying his comments were taken out of context and reflected private “rage talk” during a period of grief; the court has been asked to keep him 1,000 feet away from company personnel and associates.
