Luminate data showed Parton’s songs received 26.3 million streams on the day she died, up 2,056 per cent from 1.2 million the previous week. ‘Jolene’ drew 2.7 million streams, ‘9 to 5’ 2.3 million and ‘Islands in the Stream’ 1.8 million; musicians including Jack White, Orville Peck and Harry Styles paid tribute, while figures such as Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus shared written messages.
