Testing in the Netherlands has identified ecstasy-style tablets moulded into Donald Trump’s head that contain very high levels of PMMA, a stimulant linked to serious overdoses and deaths. Health officials warn that PMMA can take longer than MDMA to produce effects, increasing the risk that users take further doses before the first has taken effect.

The tablets, found in several colours, carry Trump’s name and “NL” on the reverse. PMMA has been linked to deaths internationally and is a Class A drug in the UK; similar Trump-shaped tablets were investigated after three 18-year-olds died following events at Glasgow’s SWG3 venue in 2023 and early 2024, although those turquoise tablets were reported to contain MDMA.
