## Key points

- Dragon Ball Super manga is absent from Jump Festa 2027.
- The series remains on hiatus after Toriyama’s death in 2024.
- No official cancellation or explanation has been announced.

## Summary

Shueisha has removed the Dragon Ball Super manga from the line-up for Jump Festa 2027, further dampening hopes that the series will resume under its current publisher. The manga has been on hiatus since creator Akira Toriyama died in 2024, and its absence has prompted speculation about the franchise’s future and the division of its rights.

Dragon Ball Super began in 2015, with Toriyama overseeing the story and Toyotaro drawing it; Toyotaro continues to publish monthly character illustrations and has said he is working towards the series’ return. Dragon Ball will still feature at Jump Festa through a Dragon Ball Super anime exhibition, while the manga’s former place in an original-art display has gone to Metaphor: ReFantazio. The article suggests the change may reflect behind-the-scenes uncertainty, but no official explanation or cancellation has been announced.
