DragonSword: Awakening, a new anime-style open-world RPG from developer and publisher Hound13 Inc., is set to launch worldwide on PC on Wednesday 22 July 2026. The release is notable for offering a substantial RPG experience as a one-time purchase, with no microtransactions built into the game, at a time when many similarly styled titles adopt gacha monetisation models.

The game will go live at 3pm BST, with players taking on the role of Lute, a young man seeking his destiny on the continent of Orbis alongside companions Johnny, a mercenary, and Castella, an elf, as he works towards becoming the prophesied "Dragon Sword" hero. Features include an open world with hidden areas such as secret cellars and treasure-filled seas, crafting and cooking systems, and a tag-team combat mechanic involving 19 heroes with unique abilities that can be combined for combo effects. No demo is currently available, though the game can be wishlisted on Steam ahead of launch.
