A Disney cruise employee was airlifted from the Disney Wonder by the Royal Canadian Air Force after suffering an injury while the ship was sailing roughly 113 miles off the coast of Vancouver, Canada. The Royal Canadian Air Force Rescue team dispatched a helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft on 8 September, coordinating with the ship's captain to land on the vessel's bow and transfer the casualty from the onboard medical centre for evacuation.

The injured crew member, referred to by Disney as a "cast member", was flown to Comox on Vancouver Island, where a British Columbia Emergency Health Services helicopter was waiting to take them onward to hospital. Their identity and the nature of the injury have not been disclosed. The Disney Wonder, carrying a 950-strong international crew, was on a seven-night Alaska itinerary that began on 7 September and continued uninterrupted, returning to its Vancouver homeport on schedule on 14 September.
