## Key points

- *The Expanse* is recommended for fans awaiting *Dune: Part Three*.
- Its six seasons combine grounded space travel with political rivalry.
- Earth, Mars and the Belt compete for power and resources.

## Summary

The article recommends Prime Video’s *The Expanse* as a series to watch while audiences await *Dune: Part Three*. It argues that the six-season science-fiction drama shares *Dune* and *Game of Thrones*’ interest in rival factions, political power and the human costs of conflict.

Set after humanity has settled Mars and the Asteroid Belt, the story follows an ice-hauling crew drawn into a conspiracy after its ship, the Canterbury, is destroyed. Earth, militarised Mars and the Belt’s Belters compete over influence and resources, while the series uses realistic physics and sudden character deaths to give its interplanetary politics weight. The article also compares Miller’s self-sacrifice with Duncan Idaho’s death in *Dune: Part One*.
