Durham completed a 10-wicket victory over Gloucestershire in just six balls on the final morning at Chester-le-Street, moving closer to promotion and the Division Two title in the Rothesay County Championship. The result was Durham's seventh win in ten matches this season, extending their lead at the top of the table with four games remaining, while bottom-placed Gloucestershire suffered their ninth defeat in ten outings.

David Bedingham hit 122, his fifth Championship century of the year, as Durham built a commanding first-innings total of 384 after Gloucestershire had been dismissed for 137, with Kasey Aldridge taking 5-16. Aldridge added a further 4-47 in the second innings to finish with match figures of 9-63, while Miles Hammond's 58 helped Gloucestershire reach 250. Chasing just four runs, Durham sent in Matty Potts, who struck the winning boundary off the final ball of the first over to seal victory in 105 seconds of play. Durham next travel to Northampton, while Gloucestershire host Derbyshire.
