Natalie Alyn Lind, who plays Oreana in the Yellowstone universe spin-off Dutton Ranch, has teased that Season 2 will explore her character's backstory in greater depth. Her comments follow a dramatic Season 1 finale, "El Padrino", which aired on 3 July 2026 and saw Oreana witness her father's death while discovering she was pregnant. The show, which follows Rip (Cole Hauser) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) as they take on a new ranch in South Texas, has already been renewed for a second series.

Lind has emerged as the breakout star of the series, which was recently ranked the second-most-watched original streaming show for the week of 1–7 June. She said she already knows Oreana's past and is excited for audiences to learn more, and described how seeing her father's vulnerability both devastates her character and prepares her for motherhood. Taylor Sheridan created the wider universe but is credited only as an executive producer on this spin-off.
