Ben Alcott, the 52-year-old uncle of former Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott, has been granted bail in Burwood Local Court after being charged with recording a "highly intimate" video of a woman without her consent and repeatedly breaching an apprehended violence order. The events and production manager, who founded the company Damn Good Productions and once worked closely with his Paralympian nephew, has been in custody since being first charged in May, and the case has drawn attention due to his professional profile and family connection to Dylan Alcott.

Alcott faces two charges of recording or distributing an intimate image without consent, plus a charge of knowingly breaching an AVO for the third time within 28 days, allegedly committed while already on bail for a separate AVO breach for which he was later convicted. Prosecutors say police hold video evidence showing the alleged victim, an American woman who has since returned to the US but is willing to give evidence remotely, was unaware she was being filmed during a consensual sexual encounter. His barrister argued for bail on the grounds of limited prior history and business commitments, while the prosecution contended the strength of the case meant bail should not be granted, and disputed the meaning of a key remark made in the footage.
