Dyson has launched the CameraJet, a $499 electric toothbrush that becomes the first to build a camera into the brush head, letting users livestream footage of the inside of their mouth via Wi-Fi while an AI feature called Gap Optical Targeting fires mouthwash into gaps between teeth as they brush, effectively flossing automatically. The 100,000-pixel camera, paired with a strobing light, analyses 28 images per second without storing or uploading them, and triggers a cone-shaped mouthwash blast within 100 milliseconds of detecting a gap, using a wider spray than typical water flossers for a gentler clean. The brush head oscillates nearly 1,000 times a second with a varying angle, combines softer outer bristles with stiffer inner ones for stain removal, and uses RFID-tagged heads that need replacing roughly every three months. Its 12.5ml mouthwash reservoir, kept pressurised by an internal air bladder so it works upside down, can be refilled in three seconds by the charging dock, and Dyson plans to sell matching non-foaming toothpaste and low-foaming mouthwash to keep the camera's view clear.
