Electronic Arts has once again accurately predicted the World Cup winner using simulations run in its football video game series, extending its perfect record to five consecutive tournaments. The feat is notable because EA lost its official FIFA licensing rights years ago and now publishes under the EA Sports FC name, yet its data-driven predictions have remained just as reliable as before.

Spain's 1-0 win over Argentina secured the country's second World Cup title, matching EA's simulation, which had forecast a Spanish victory before the tournament began on 6 June. EA's prediction record stretches back 16 years, having also correctly called Spain in 2010, Germany in 2014, France in 2018 and Argentina in 2022. The predictions are generated using EA's extensive player and team performance data through AI-simulated matches across the entire tournament, though similar forecasting for other sports, such as the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup, has proven far less accurate.
