Harris stated he was assured before signing that his character would be one of four principal characters in the series, but found during Season 1 filming that his part was substantially smaller than described. The actor revealed he felt sufficiently underutilised midway through production that he considered voiding his contract entirely.

The primary source of friction came when producers removed a singing scene from an early episode—a moment Harris had been explicitly told would occur before he committed to the project. When his character was meant to perform in a bar sequence, the footage was excised because producers deemed it tonally misaligned with the episode's darker arc. Harris indicated the decision was consequential enough that he seriously contemplated contract termination, though he remains engaged with the series for two seasons, with producers having indicated expanded material for Season 2, which is scheduled to begin filming in February 2027.
