Eight Buddhist monks killed and dozens injured after boy, 11, runs them over in a truck
A tragic road accident in northeastern Thailand has claimed eight lives after an 11-year-old child operating his father's vehicle struck a group of Buddhist monks walking together along a roadside. A bronze Isuzu pick-up truck collided with approximately 34 monks in their traditional orange robes who were proceeding in single file through Mukdahan on Thursday morning around noon.
The collision left numerous others with injuries, with around 14 monks transported to hospitals in critical condition and the remainder treated for minor wounds. Police secured the scene and initiated their investigation, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
