## Summary

Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed has faced immediate criticism from within the Democratic Party after a leaked fundraising call in which he said that putting “one ogre on a pike” would make others fall into line. The remarks have intensified an already tense primary contest, highlighting the divide between progressive and more moderate Democrats.

El-Sayed was reportedly discussing his potential influence ahead of the 2028 elections and a possible primary challenge to Senator John Fetterman.
