Electric Callboy describe how the success of their 2022 album ‘TEKKNO’ and their increasingly elaborate live shows led into the creation of ‘TANZNEID’. The band say the record reflects an intense, emotional and creatively free two-year period, while their carefully rehearsed costume changes and fitness regime underline the scale of their current touring operation.

Rather than beginning with a fixed album plan, the group returned to the studio to keep their momentum and released singles as they developed new material. Nico Sallach says they gradually identified what sound and songs were still needed, with tracks including the BABYMETAL collaboration ‘RATATATA’, ‘Elevator Operator’ and ‘Revery’ emerging from that process.
