## Key points

- Stuyvesant’s DSA chapter signed a statement using “Intifada Until Victory”.
- Jewish advocates are seeking answers from school officials.
- NYC-DSA said it did not help plan the post.

## Summary

Stuyvesant High School’s Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter is facing scrutiny after signing an Instagram statement that ended with “Intifada Until Victory”. Jewish advocacy group #EndJewHatred has called on school administrators and New York City Schools Chancellor Kamar Samuels to address the post and explain how similar disputes are handled.

The statement also criticised the New York City Democratic Socialists of America and Mayor Zohran Mamdani, including his decision to retain police commissioner Jessica Tisch. NYC-DSA said it had no role in developing the post and condemned efforts to target students for political reasons. The phrase “intifada” is understood by some activists as resistance to Israeli policies, while many Jews associate it with uprisings that included attacks on civilians. The article also cites 250 antisemitic and anti-Israel incidents reported in city public schools from October 2023 to July 2026.
