## Key points

- Musk posted an AI image of Anakin ruling alongside his family.
- The article says this reverses Star Wars’ portrayal of Anakin’s fall.
- Padmé rejects Anakin’s actions in Revenge of the Sith.

## Summary

Elon Musk shared an AI-generated image imagining Anakin Skywalker ruling the Empire with Padmé and their children, captioned “This is what they stole from us”. The article argues the post misunderstands Star Wars because the story presents Anakin’s turn to authoritarian rule as a tragic fall, not a lost ideal.

The image appeared in a 1 November post on X and draws on a meme about things supposedly taken from people. The article says that meme usually refers to something that once existed, whereas Anakin ruling happily with his family was never part of Star Wars. It also points to Padmé’s commitment to justice and her rejection of Anakin’s atrocities in Revenge of the Sith.
