British singer Engelbert Humperdinck has released an unexpected cover of KISS’s “Beth”, featuring Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman on piano. The song is being used to promote Humperdinck’s forthcoming album Faithfully, and highlights the veteran performer’s continued willingness to reinterpret rock material late in his career.

Faithfully is due for release on 28 August and will include versions of songs associated with Journey, Ozzy Osbourne, KISS and Aerosmith. Humperdinck, who turned 90 in May and has sold more than 140 million albums, enlisted several guest musicians for the record, including Jonathan Cain, Al Di Meola, Ian Anderson and Eric Gales; online listeners have responded positively to the “Beth” video.
