## Summary

England coach Brendon McCullum says his batters are prepared to handle Australia’s short-ball attack in Perth, where the sides begin a three-match one-day international series on Friday. A warm-up win over Western Australia at the WACA gave England a chance to adjust to local conditions before the opening match.

England won by 92 runs, scoring 251 before dismissing Western Australia for 159. Ben Duckett made 59, Jofra Archer took 3-34 and Adil Rashid claimed 4-35; Josh Tongue is out with a toe injury. Australia have rested Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc and will be looking to recover from a heavy multi-format defeat in South Africa.
