## Summary

Enter Shikari have released “Lightyears”, a hopeful, expansive new track reflecting on memory and the changing versions of ourselves. It matters to the band’s current “Lose Your Self” cycle and arrives as they prepare to play a run of arena shows.

Frontman Rou Reynolds said the song was inspired by digitising old family camcorder footage, which brought back memories of relatives, places and earlier stages of his life. He described it as a way of addressing loved ones who have died and his younger self, and of quieting self-criticism. “Lightyears” follows the surprise release of “Higher Ground” earlier this month.
