Entourage creator Doug Ellin has publicly rejected claims made by co-star Debi Mazar that she was fat-shamed by producers on the HBO series after giving birth to her second child in 2006. Mazar, who told The Times of London that the show became "toxic" from its third season onwards, said producers disapproved of the weight she gained after childbirth, despite later losing it again. The dispute has played out publicly, with Ellin dismissing the allegation as "disgusting" on social media, though Mazar did not name any individual as responsible for the alleged behaviour.

Mazar played publicist Shauna Roberts across all eight seasons of Entourage, from 2004 to 2011, and said the atmosphere on set shifted from a "joy-fest" in season one to a "testosterone-fueled environment" that became increasingly difficult for her. Responding on X, Ellin insisted neither he nor anyone else involved in the show ever discussed or cared about Mazar's body, adding that the only cast members whose physiques he recalled commenting on were Adrian Grenier, whom he wanted more muscular, and Jerry Ferrara, whom he had wanted to appear heavier — a decision he said he now regrets given the health implications.
